The class is very strongly based on release technique and a relevant attention will be given to the floor work. Aims of the class: -to establish a smooth, soft, confident and at the same time clear and sharp relationship with the floor, as if it would be a “partner” to dance with; -to increase the skill of absorbing the impact with the floor while executing movements based on the relation between weight and gravity going up and down; -to dance an extend, dynamic phrase with many changes of levels and directions, without losing power, softness, focus and presence.

Bruno Catalano graduated from ArtEZ University of the Arts in Arnhem (The Netherlands) in 2003. He danced amongst others for Marcus Grolle, Katja Wolf, Morgan Nardi, Ornella D`Agostino, Tino Sehgal, Tiziana Arnaboldi, Roberto Galvan and Joseph Tmim. Since 2007 he is the co-director of the company PiccoliProduction with Simone Blaser. They created several pieces in co-production with the Tanzhaus Zürich, Rote Fabrik and Gessnerallee (www.piccoliproduction.com). From 2011 to 2018 he worked as a choreographer for the AG Theater Rämibühl in Zürich. He also worked as a choreographer in two operas (both produced by the Opernverein Zürich): „La Finta Giardiniera“ (Im Garten der L i e b e ) b y W. A . M o z a r t ( 2 0 1 5 ) a n d “ I P a z z i P e r Progetto“ (Wahnsinn mit Absicht) by G.Donizetti (2018). Since 2018 he’s leading an ongoing project called „Strangers are you, stranger is me“ with the indian collective Citizens of Stage Co Lab supported by the production house Shoonya in Bangalore. Since many years Bruno is teaching in several prestigiousacademies and dance institutions in Switzerland (teacher member of Grundausbildung ZTTS and guest-teacher of HF Bühnentanz at the Tanzwerk101 in Zürich) and in the world. Among others: Espacio Lem (Argentina), Ecole des Sables (Senegal), ArtEZ (The Netherlands), SEAD (Austria), Iwanson (Germany), Danscentrumjette (Belgium), Tanzfabrik and Marameo (Berlin), HJS (Amsterdam).
