My ballet classes are for everybody, regardless whether they have a background in classic ballet or contemporary dance. I focus on the individual bodies of the dancers and believe that each and every one of us is different. My bar exercises are fairly simple and are designed to help the dancers to pay attention to their body and activate their own resources to be able to maximise their potential when we move on to the centre exercises.
Azusa is from Japan. She arrived in Europe after graduating high school from her hometown Hiroshima to explore the world of dance and expand her repertoire from classic ballet to contemporary dance. Shortly after joining a training program for young dancers in Zurich, her professional career in the freelance field started in 2000. Since then she is based in Zurich and works throughout Switzerland as a dancer, a teacher, and a choreography assistant. She enjoys the diverse experiences of working with various companies and projects, not only on stage but also in churches, museums, art galleries, streets, schools, factories, graveyards and other outdoor environments. Collaborating with artists from other fields as well, she performed for operas, dance films, theatre performances, music videos, commercial events and photoshoots. Next to her work as a performer she started to teach ballet and contemporary dance in 2008.
