Class description
The class focuses on correct posture, co-ordination and on the awareness of how the body moves in specific directions within itself, so that it can consequently move with freedom into space. Breathing and gathering of the energy efficiently, are important elements together with musicality and dynamic changes. My aim is to guide each dancer to explore at a level where he/she feels free, and ready in the body, to master the technical difficulties with consciousness, awareness and joy.

Pamela Monreale was born in Palermo, Italy in 1986. After being part of the youth company of Teatro Massimo in Palermo, she continued her studies in Codarts, University of the Arts in Rotterdam, where she graduated in 2008. Her career as professional dancer started with Cathy Sharp Dance Ensemble in Basel to then continue freelancing with several dance companies in Switzerland such us T42dance projects, cie.dysoundbo, Konzert Theater Bern. In 2010 she started teaching ballet classes for different dance companies and open professional trainings for Marcel Leemann Physical Dance Theater, Joshua Monten Dance Company , Zagreb Dance Company, Profitraining Basel, Tanzhaus Zürich and many others. Since 2015 she teaches regularly in Zürich for the for the Grundausbildung (GAB) and for the HF Bühnentanz for both professional education and Bachelor program(BA HONS Urban and contemporary dance).
Since 2017 she is a Basi Pilates instructor. She tought Pilates for physiotherapy centres in Fribourg, and in Bern at CIRCLES. as part of rehabilitation and prevention from injuries for football players. In her Ballet classes she combines the work of Pilates with classical ballet, in order to go deeper into the understanding of a healthy and functional approach of the technique.
Since August 2021 she is working as rehearsal director and choreographic assistant for TanzLuzern, under the direction of Wanda Puvogel at the Luzerner Theater.
